Application

SMBS is used in water treatment industry. It can eliminate dissolved oxygen in wastewater; clean water pipes and reverse osmosis membranes in desalinization equipment; remove excess chlorine during water treatment. SMBS is as leaching agent in paper pulp, cotton, etc. In gold mining, SMBS can leach groundwood, as an antichlor.

In food industry, SMBS is used as decolorizer in candy, cakes; as leavening agent in bakery; as anticorrosion and bactericidal agent in beverage, juice, canned food; as preservative in sea foods, vegetable and fruits, etc.
