Sodium propionate is white crystalline particle or crystalline powder, with slightly propionic acid odor. It is a kind of acidic preservatives. In acidic conditions, it produces unbonded propionic acid and it has bacteriostasis function. The bacteriostasis function is affected by PH value. Widely used in foods, feeds and cosmetics as preservatives and antiseptic.
